Our ranch changes with the season. In the summer, you'll experience green trees and a variety of summer birds. Our colors change in the fall, adding a seasonal element not found in many areas of Southern Nevada. In the fall, you'll see birds from all over the country as they migrate to warmer climates. Clover Creek, which runs through the property, does experience droughts depending on the weather, season, and how active the beavers that live upstream have been at damming up the water. The creek runs the strongest in late fall, through the winter, and into the spring. The property and surrounding BLM land are yours to explore.

The Team and The Work It Takes

It takes a lot of work to maintain 120 acres. For the past 20 years, the entire ranch has been managed by Todd Weber and his (now 86-year-old) mother, Grannie Annie. Every day, they let the sheep loose to graze in the pastures or explore the cliffs while Todd manages the irrigation, clears debris, returns visiting cows back to their own farms, makes sure there's enough hay to go around, and does everything else it takes to keep this ranch beautiful and productive.

Grannie Annie has her own ranch duties- maintaining the chicken coop, tending to the barn cats, keeping all the dogs (and Todd) well-fed, and keeping the property near the house in tip-top shape. You may see her out for a stroll in the hills or making her round of the property, putting us youngsters to shame with her energy and work ethic.

Come evening, the sheep are herded back to the barn with the help of TwoBobs, our Border Collie, who gets a thrill out of her daily chore. The sheep are watched over by two Great Pyrenees, Shorty and Belle. While beautiful to look at, these two are working dogs with a job to do, so they won't be looking for pets or treats while you're visiting.

New to the ranch life, Todd's nephew Jacy and his wife Emily are adjusting to the shift from air-conditioned city life to the day-to-day rhythms of country life. Jacy is a full-time project manager for a Las Vegas solar company, a Master Electrician, and a Zelda nerd. Emily works as a therapist, is a Ph.D. student in Forensic Psychology, and does her nerding out over her Lego collection.
You might see their three pampered house dogs, Muto, Jackal, and Whiskey trying their best to play the part of ranch dogs (but they still need to sleep with Mom and Dad at night). Muto, the baby pit bull, is always down for some pets and snuggles. Jackal, the Luck Dragon, can be a little choosy with who she spends her time with, but if she chooses you, she'll be a friend for life. Whiskey, the grumpy old man, prefers if you give him some space- so if you see him behind a fence or walking with his parents give him a wave and then "get off his lawn". Despite what these three tell you, they are not starving and do not need to share any meals with you.
